Restorative, Meditative Living
A 4-Night Mindfulness Retreat
with Therese Fitzgerald
June 4 - 8th, 2025
With the nourishing power of solitude and silence, engendering the opportunity to open ourselves to new insights, this retreat promises to be a transformative journey of self-discovery and renewal. Nestled along Tennessee’s tranquil Powell River, amid the idyllic Appalachian Mountains, and with the support of fellow practitioners, we can dwell in a state of profound mindfulness.
Program
We will practice sitting and walking meditation, eat mindful meals in silence, listen to Dharma talks, engage in small group discussions, and practice mindful movement. The teacher, Therese Fitzgerald, will be available for personal interviews. And there will be time for being in nature, resting, studying, and reflecting.

Therese will offer Dharma talks around the theme on two main aspects of meditation—shamatha, cultivating a calm mind; and vipashyana, developing single-pointed concentration and insight, investigating the causes and conditions that lead to suffering and those that lead to well-being. We retreat in order to gather our heart-minds, restore ourselves and learn to see more clearly, so that we can know the most beneficial steps to take in our lives.

Check-in will take place on Wednesday, June 4th, from 3 to 5 p.m., and the program will conclude after lunch on Sunday, June 8th. Meals—from Wednesday dinner through Sunday lunch—will be vegetarian, including organic eggs and some organic dairy. Most meals will be gluten-free, with a vegan option available. Teas, coffee, and snacks will be provided throughout the program. Cabins (but not Cabinettes) are equipped with kitchenettes to accommodate specific dietary needs, if necessary.
